An interesting opine: Why Religious Leaders Opposed Jesus. Over the years I have read and heard various premises, but this is the first graphic of this type for this subject, I have viewed.

This is non-exhaustive:

The Jewish religious leaders opposed the claims of Messiaship and the deity of Jesus Christ.

The Roman state, opposed the claims of Jesus Christ as the King of the Kingdom of God.

Satan and satanic beings opposed the Kingdom of God and God's salvific plans for humanity and any divine plans for a restored creation.

I am a somewhat surprised the graphic does not mention that the Jewish religious leaders would oppose any implied claims of deity from Jesus Christ. such as being the eternal Word of God (John 1) and being eternal (John 8).

Jesus Christ accepted himself as being the Son of God in the gospels. Browning states that the term Son of God may mean a pre-existent divine being that lived as Jesus Christ. (349). Based on Browning's perspective, some Jewish religious leaders may have reasoned Jesus Christ accepting the title Son of God, as equaling divinity.

The Scripture, classically documents that the Jews understood what Jesus Christ meant. So, Browning's wording is not strong enough.

John 10:30-33

New American Standard Bible (NASB) 30 I and the Father are [a]one.” 31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?” 33 The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.”

Footnotes: John 10:30 Or a unity; or one essence

It is New Testament and classic Christian theology the Son of God is the second person of the Trinity (Matthew 28) Romans 1 states Jesus Christ is the Son of God in power and is the Lord.

Crucially, even as God incarnate, Jesus Christ did not state to the religious leaders directly, 'I am God! or 'I am the second person of the Trinity!' He applied this theology and his New Testament scribes and apostles taught it as essential doctrine.

I have shared this graphic previously in archives. There are approximately 5, 000 New Testament manuscripts. The consistency of the Greek manuscripts supports the validity of the documented religious history.
