Philosopher Frederick Ferre: Incompatibilism (PhD Edit)

Paris-Travel+Leisure, Facebook

Frederick Ferre (1973)(1976) presents an incompatibilist view called self-determinism.[1]  Ferre reasons that, although there are external conditions relevant for every action, the outcomes of these actions are not fixed by any causal chain.[2]  Ferre here is suggesting that for some events there is not a prior determined cause.[3] Therefore, within this theory some human actions would not be caused or simultaneously determined by God or any external force,[4] and some human actions could be considered self-determined.[5]

Feinberg, who has written extensively on the concepts of free will and determinism, explains incompatibilism is defined as the idea within free will theodicy that a person is free in regard to an action if he or she is free to either commit, or refrain from committing the action.[6]  There can be no antecedent[7] conditions or laws that will determine that an action is committed or not committed.[8]

Compatibilism, like incompatibilism, holds to free will but in a limited form.[9]  P.S. Greenspan (1998) writes compatibilism holds to free will and determinism being compatible.[10]  Feinberg, a noted compatibilist, describes compatibilism as stating certain nonconstraining conditions could strongly influence actions in conjunction with human free will performing these actions.[11]  Feinberg (2001) explains that with this viewpoint, there will be no contradiction in stating God would create human beings who were significantly free, unconstrained, and yet committed actions that God willed.[12]

Good to find out corp. hq back in TO specifically wanted me to stay on site with new company. I have advancement room is this industry if I do not find full-time work with degrees.

I was advised when I took my EST course not to divulge PhD education as I may not be hired. Instead I was told to emphasize research and investigation skills and related. So my resume looks quite different than my CV. But Mgr at first employer was English and from a background in which he reasoned I at least had an MA. He even asked to have degrees documented. At this point I think education helped me remain in transition. English reading and writing skills and computer skills are important in this region especially.

Full-time offer in regard to work today from company taking over corp. security @ same site. Slight pay increase and more hours, was working part-time. Corp. wanted me to stay. Still homecaring and looking for extra work with PhD on weekends mainly, so busy.

I mentioned to Mr. S that @ first stated nill, so I thought maybe him? Then he later warned me to stay out of the disgusting wc and that he had asked janitor to clean. That rivals Granville BK from the 90s with poison level...

  15. James Crane worked on the 101st floor of Tower 1 of the World Trade Center .. He is blind so he has a golden retriever named Daisy.

After the plane hit 20 stories below, James knew that he was doomed, so he let Daisy go, out of an act of love.

She darted away into the darkened hallway.
Choking on the fumes of the jet fuel and the smoke James was just waiting to die. About 30 minutes later,

Daisy comes back along with James' boss, Who Daisy just happened to pick up on floor 112

On her first run of the building, she leads James, James' boss, and about 300 more people out of the doomed building.
But she wasn't through yet, she knew there were others who were trapped. So, highly against James' wishes she ran

    back in the building.
On her second run, she saved 392 lives. Again she went back in. During this run, the building collapses.

James hears about this and falls on his knees into tears.
Against all known odds, Daisy makes it out alive, but this time she is carried by a firefighter. "She led us right to

the people, before she got injured" the fireman explained.
Her final run saved another 273 lives. She suffered acute smoke inhalation, severe burns on all four paws,

and a broken leg, but she saved 967 lives. Daisy is the first civilian Canine to win the Medal of Honor of New York City.

"We need a fourth for poker," said the friend.

"I'll be right over," whispered the doctor.

As he was putting on his coat, his wife asked, "Is it serious?"

"Oh yes, quite serious," said the doctor gravely. "There are three doctors there already!"
